Your PC, from anywhere.

Cameras, encoders and phones have to reach your PC from the internet. In Settings › Network and internet you choose how, and every link and QR code in the App follows it.

Modes

Choose how it is reached.

If you can open ports on your router, use Direct. If not (hotels, companies, VPN, double router, carrier CGNAT), use a tunnel: the PC connects out to a server and everything comes in through it.

    Direct

    The router ports, opened by UPnP or by hand. The lowest latency. The Router card shows each port with its state and «Check from the internet».

    Own NAS

    The tunnel server on your NAS with Docker. No limits or fees, and it carries the Intercom TURN. The App creates the package with its keys.

    Amazon Lightsail

    The same server on a Lightsail instance you rent, if you have no NAS. The App creates the package with its installer.

    SAMedia service

    SAMedia's tunnel, with nothing to set up. Free with limits the App shows in real time, or unlimited with the monthly subscription.

Own NAS

The tunnel server on a Synology · 10 minutes

With DSM 7.2 or later. On QNAP (Container Station) or another NAS with Docker Compose it is the same folder and the same docker-compose.yml.

  1. 01

    Create the server in the App

    Settings › Network and internet › Own NAS › «Create the server…». Type the name that follows your router's IP (the NAS DDNS, e.g. mynas.synology.me) and save the ZIP. That PC is already linked to it.

  2. 02

    Upload the folder to the NAS

    Package Center: install «Container Manager». File Station: create the folder docker/srtserver-tunel and upload the unzipped content of the ZIP there (Dockerfile, docker-compose.yml, .env and the helper and data folders).

    Create the project

    Container Manager › Project › Create: name srtserver-tunel, the folder from the previous step and «use the existing docker-compose.yml». The first time takes a few minutes.

    Router ports

    With UPnP on the router, the server opens them by itself. If not, open them by hand to the NAS IP (and in its firewall, if it is on):

    Check it and link the other PCs

    In a browser on your network, http://NAS-IP:7101 shows the version and the state. On each extra PC, Settings › Network and internet › Own NAS: paste the content of CODIGO_PARA_LA_APP.txt (from the ZIP) where it says «Paste its code» and click «Test».

Recommended NAS

Which NAS works.

Any NAS with Docker (Docker Compose) and a 64-bit processor. What matters most is your connection's upload: each channel and each viewer adds its Mbps.
